Rupture is a next-generation kick drum and mono synthbass generator for Ableton Live (Max for Live). At its core lies a Multi-Envelope Morphable Dynamic Oscillator, where the waveform is alive and constantly evolving throughout the sound. This unique design lets you sculpt transients, body, and decay in one fluid motion, making every kick rich, organic, and full of character.
From tight electronic thumps to evolving aggressive impacts and driving basslines, Rupture gives producers deep control over sound shaping while staying intuitive and musical.
New in 2.0
Rupture 2.0 is a full rebuild. The interface has been redesigned from scratch in a clean, stock Ableton style. The device is now fully MIDI-driven, with a new per-block velocity matrix that lets incoming velocity shape any section of the engine. Envelopes are faster and more precise, pitch and amplitude shaping have been reworked, length is now set in time divisions, and voice stealing on retrigger is smoother than ever.
Main Features
- Morphable Oscillator & Waveshaper – start from a pure sine wave and sculpt it with morphing, wavefolding, saturation, and distortion, all evolving in real time.
- Unique Pitch Envelope – specially developed for kick synthesis, controlled intuitively via XY pad.
- Amplitude Envelope – natural musical curves with quick shaping via XY pad, now set in time divisions.
- Velocity Matrix – dial in exactly how much incoming MIDI velocity affects each section of the engine.
- Frequency Modulation (FM) – add grit, aggression, and complex textures.
- Advanced Filters – isolate or remove the fundamental, apply a dynamic low-pass, or boost the attack with a transient exciter.
- Samples & Noise Layering – enhance your kick with clicks and textures, or drag & drop your own samples, with inverse ring modulation that fills the dips of the kick.
- ModKnobs – an intelligent modulation system that transforms a single envelope into multiple evolving curves.
- Snapshots System – save up to 6 internal variations per device to build a personal kick library.
- Parameter Randomization – instantly generate creative and unexpected variations, with per-block scope.
- Mixer with soft clipping – ensures punchy kicks without overload.
- Integrated Mapping – use the amplitude envelope to modulate any Live parameter (sidechain-style, effects, etc.).
- Built-in Oscilloscope – visualize your sound in real time for precise sound design.
- MIDI Playable – tune your kicks to notes via MIDI, turning Rupture into a percussive synth or mono bass.
- Consistent Retriggering – every repeat stays phase-aligned and identical, with smooth click-free playback even in fast patterns.
Compatibility
- Requires Ableton Live 11 or 12 with Max for Live
- Not compatible with Ableton Push Standalone
