Pharlight designed by equivalent folks that brought you previous instrument Straylight, Pharlight may be a new Kontakt-based synth from Native Instruments that uses the human voice to make leads, pads, textures and more.
Running in Kontakt 6 and therefore the free Kontakt 6 Player, Pharlight is made around a specially-recorded sample library. Created by 15 artists and sound designers, the sample library may be a result of research into how different sound interact with granular processing, producing timbres that sound convincingly human. Take a quick listen below.
The collection of 319 sound sources is comprised of vocal artists, beatboxers, choral sounds, made-up words, and more, with 375 presets that give instant access to stylistically vast sounds. Beyond its complex textural capabilities, Pharlight’s power is often harnessed to be used in melodic, fast-attack seems like hooks and melodies.
Pharlight’s engine features dual grain and sample modules. The grain module is where the atmospheric, evolving sounds are generated, all while maintaining the character and timbre of samples no matter time and pitch. this is often then layered with the sample module, which features a range of parameters for detailed tweaking of the sound.
The modulation and effect section gives you the pliability to control snapshots in realtime and add the final touch to a preset. A nifty XY pad can take hold of parameters for quick morphing and spontaneous sounds. inspect Native Instrument’s walkthrough below.
