Introducing the new Acqua plugin suite, Mint, which is based on a rare solid state console known as the GL2112. Originally crafted by a renowned Swiss engineer in the late 1970s, only two of these consoles remain today, and we are proud to be the sole company offering the sounds of this rare device in digital form.
Capture the Essence of 1970s Aggressive Sound
Mint comprises four distinct plugins designed to emulate the unique characteristics of the GL2112 console. This suite is the second installment in our Boutique Collection Acqua plugins series, aimed at faithfully reproducing the essence of truly distinctive gear—equipment that is exceedingly difficult to find due to its rarity or fading from memory.
At the heart of Mint lies the meticulous recreation of an iconic vintage analog console module, showcasing the pinnacle of Swiss technology from its era. Our ability to sample such an exclusive unit was made possible through the generous contributions of Oxygen Recording Studio and Paride Lanciani, a guitarist, producer, and sound engineer who currently owns this invaluable piece of equipment.
What’s Included in Mint:
Mint EQ: Featuring a 4-band EQ with bass cut and a unique dual 80-16000 Hz band for the mids. It incorporates 8 solid state line preamps derived from the GL2112 console’s 8 channels.
Mint Comp: This solid state compressor/limiter offers 3 switchable dynamic processor emulations: the original Comp 1 model, a more aggressive “Frankenstein” mode known as Comp2 developed by Acustica, and a limiter, all with preamp emulation.
Mint Pre: Includes 16 line preamplifiers, 16 mic preamplifiers, and two stereo buses to replicate the original console’s powerful and colorful sound. It can be driven to produce a range of distortions with unparalleled musicality. Additionally, Acustica has added two extra preamp emulations to enhance this section.
Mint Channel Strip: Combines a 4-band equalizer, a compressor/limiter with 3 switchable modes, and a comprehensive preamp section to deliver a complete console-like experience.
Mint offers users the opportunity to access the distinct sonic character of the GL2112 console, allowing for the creation of music with a vintage flair and unmatched authenticity.
