Scaler EQ Pro brings musical intelligence to every stage of mixing, mastering and sound design. Shape frequencies in relation to notes, scales and harmony, control the low and high end dynamically, or even play your EQ from MIDI – all while keeping the musical context at the heart of your sound.
Built on Scaler’s patented note-aware equalisation and rebuilt with all-new filter technology, Scaler EQ Pro delivers smoother, more natural Harmonic Peak filtering, continuously variable slopes, dedicated Bass and High-Frequency Compression, Continuous Gain Match and the new MIDI-controlled Live Mode.
What can Scaler EQ Pro be used for?
Music Production
Ideal for musicians and producers looking to enhance the musicality of their tracks by ensuring all instruments are in harmony with the chosen scale.
Audio Editing
Simplify EQ processes by targeting and cleaning up frequency bands to remove audio that doesn’t belong and enhance audio naturally present with the chosen scale.
Sound Design
Turn almost any recorded sound into a playable musical instrument. Boost in-key resonant frequencies to transform textures into musical pads, make drum parts sing, or use MIDI notes and chords to bring specific harmonics to life.
Mastering
Place on your master channel to broaden your stereo width, focus your bass, increase loudness, and enhance your mix.
Key Features
Musical EQ
- Patented note-aware musical EQ boosts frequencies belonging to your key and scale or reduces frequencies that fall outside them.
- All-new musical filter engine delivers smoother, more natural and more precise note-aware processing.
- Redesigned Harmonic Peak filters accurately target musical frequencies while blending naturally into neighbouring notes.
- Automatic key detection analyses your music and adapts the EQ to the detected key and scale.
- Three scale slots let you move between different keys and scales within the same project.
- Edit individual scale notes to fine-tune exactly which harmonics are processed.
Precision Filtering
- Continuously variable filter slopes move smoothly between conventional slope values rather than fixed steps.
- Traditional and musical EQ bands combine familiar precision EQ with Scaler’s scale-aware processing.
- Tilt, Notch, Peak, Shelf, High/Low Cut and Band-Pass filters provide a complete modern EQ toolkit.
- Magic Shelf filtering shapes the low and high end while intelligently managing stereo information.
- Minimum-phase, zero-latency processing makes Scaler EQ Pro suitable for mixing, tracking and live use.
Dynamics & Mastering
- Dedicated Bass Compressor controls low-frequency energy while preserving punch.
- Dedicated High-Frequency Compressor smooths harsh highs while retaining detail.
- Dynamic EQ on any band with Threshold, Ratio, Attack and Release controls.
- Mid/Side processing on every band provides precise control of stereo, mid and side information.
- Sidechain-controlled dynamics let external signals control individual bands.
- Continuous Gain Match compensates for level changes so you can judge processing rather than loudness.
- Stereo Width and low-frequency Mono control help shape spatial balance and focus the bottom end.
- Input and Output Peak Limiters provide final level protection.
Live Mode
- MIDI-controlled Live Mode lets you boost or cut frequencies by playing MIDI notes.
- Polyphonic operation lets multiple MIDI notes or chords create multiple musical bands simultaneously.
- Velocity sensitivity controls how strongly each played note affects the EQ.
- ADSR shaping controls how the processing evolves over time.
- Performance Solo turns EQ into a playable performance effect.
- Live Band Solo isolates the frequencies currently being processed.
Workflow & Sound Design
- Transform recorded sounds into musical material using scale-aware filtering and harmonic resonance.
- Hundreds of presets cover mastering, instruments, mixing and sound design.
- Mid/Side processing on every band provides precise control of stereo, mid and side information.
- Input/output level controls with Peak and RMS metering simplify gain staging and monitoring.
- Completely redesigned interface and workflow brings the expanded toolset together in a faster working environment.
- Protected by U.S. Patent No. 12,647,085 for Scaler’s note-aware audio processing technology.
