In the lexicon of instruments, timbres and colours available to us there is no sound more potentially terrifying than that of a young voice. As beautiful as it can sound in the right context, when placed against darker subject matter or accompaniment it can become the thing of pure nightmares.
We set about casting a troupe of boys who sang with just the right amount of “beautiful-menace” and the ability to be creative with us in support of an instrument designed by media composers with other media composers in mind.
Under strict child-labour regulations we have made the best use of the time we had with this school-age children to deliver you a broad spectrum of timbral possibilities. Our aim was to give you as much choice as possible within the natural range of the kids without troubling them or you (and your hard drive) with edge-case filler. What you will find here is an expertly curated sample-set designed to deliver what you need.
As a team of award winning producers and composers we also set about providing a selection of well-crafted “alternative” signals and mixes to stimulate your imagination and possible fear in your listener:
