Next, we pioneered macro sampling. We used extremely sensitive microphones placed incredibly close – just 1-2 millimeters – to the source of the sound, adjusting for every single tongue played. These macro samples were then mixed in a three-dimensional environment, allowing you to feel the drum’s resonance all around you.
Finally, we went “overboard” with experimentation, placing another Ambisonics microphone directly inside the drum.
