Forged from Feedback & Live Instruments
What happens when pure audio feedback meets the organic tones of an ocarina, male vocals, a vintage 1960s organ, trumpet, wine glasses, wind chimes, an out-of-tune piano, or a trombone? The answer lies within Feedback Drones.
Our process was unconventional:
- Purposeful Feedback Creation: We set up microphones in our studio specifically to generate and capture complex, evolving audio feedback loops.
- Live Instrument Interaction: During feedback capture, musicians performed live, their instruments interacting with and becoming part of the feedback signal itself.
- Signature Manipulation: These unique hybrid recordings were then subjected to intensive processing – chopped, reversed, pitched, layered, drenched in effects – transforming raw energy into evocative soundscapes.
- Curated Combinations: Various feedback textures and instrument combinations were layered and blended to create both simple, focused drones and vast, complex sonic moments.
This meticulous process yielded a library brimming with sounds you simply won’t find anywhere else.

- Movements: Evolving soundscapes and dynamic textures, often highlighting the interplay between feedback and the original instrumental performances.
