PSP VintageWarmer2 is a digital simulation of an analog-style single or multi-band compressor/limiter. For me the PSP VintageWarmer has survived all these years because it can give me something that no other plugin can give me. I have a lot of analog gear in my studio and I don’t think there’s any specification for the term analog but to me it does give me a sound that I can associate with my analog gear and with analog gear that I’ve been using over the years.

PSP VintageWarmer2 has two modes single mode and multi mode. For mastering I almost exclusively use it in multi mode. The other thing that I always leave on is the FAT control. This activates the FAT (Frequency Authentication Technique) algorithm that basically gives you a cleaner sound with less aliasing artifacts. The ceiling is always at -1 in my case.

One of my favorite things with the PSP VintageWarmer is the saturation section. It determines how quickly your different bands are going to saturate and this actually gives you a very tape like effect to your sound. I like what it does to the mids it makes them more creamy it makes the vocals a little bit more tamed sometimes especially if you have spiky vocals. You can get to stupid levels of loudness with this plugin.
