Unison Chord Genie is an AI powered chord progression generator. Unlike other chord plugins out there that just cycle through basic patterns, this one actually creates progressions that sound pretty professional.

The first thing you do is set your key. Then you select how long you want the progression to be, four bars or eight bars. Hit the button in the middle and it’s going to generate your chords for you.

If you don’t like it, you just hit it again and it’ll do a new one.

You can adjust how long the chords will actually play for, and you can change individual chords. The highlighted section shows all the chords that are within your scale, so these are going to be the ones that sound the best.

You can also go into the piano roll and change individual notes within a chord. So essentially, you still do have full control over how your chords sound, what chords are playing, and how long they’re playing for.

One of the best features is the link button, which can link Chord Genie to other Unison plugins, like Bass Dragon, which will then generate a bass that goes exactly with these chord progressions.

Once you find a chord progression you like, you can drag and drop that MIDI information directly onto any instrument track that you have.

Chord Genie is especially useful when you’re stuck for ideas. Even if you know how to play piano, sometimes you’re stuck in your own ways or you just don’t have any ideas. These kinds of tools can help generate new chord progression ideas quickly.

If you’re an engineer and you’re not really into production, this could be a great tool to help you get started. Or even if you are a producer and you just want some quick chord progression ideas, using the Chord Genie to generate it and even customize the chords is really cool.
